Dear SIGGEN members,
We have three positions on the SIGGEN board opening up at the end of the year. We are now seeking nominations for all of these positions. Please consider volunteering to run for one of these positions! You can also nominate another SIGGEN member with their permission.
Two of the positions are for four years, while the third one is reserved for a student, with a two-year term. The three new members will join Barbara Di Eugenio and Verena Rieser, who will remain on the board. The positions are not further specified, since the roles (chair, secretary, treasurer, webmaster) will be decided collaboratively among the board members after the elections. (See the constitution on the SIGGEN site, http://www.siggen.org, for information on the board make-up and election proceedings.)
To submit a nomination email Kristina Striegnitz (email@example.com). If you are nominating yourself, include a short statement describing why you should be elected. If you are nominating somebody else, please, copy them on the email so that we can follow up with them. If you are applying for the student position, please also indicate how you meet the eligibility requirement from the constitution: "To be eligible to stand for election as a student board member, candidates should be expected to complete at least one year of their term of office before their Ph.D. defense would reasonably be scheduled."
Nominations deadline: 26 November 2014
Elections: 3 December -- 17 December 2014
Term starts: 1 January 2015
All members of the special interest group are eligible to stand, and may vote.
If you are interested and have any questions, feel free to contact us informally!
